About the event
Through this workshop, participants will experience and focus on green plant materials in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. An arrangement will be created where the participant only uses green materials. Materials might include: green flowers, branches, reeds, leaves, and/or sprayed green dried materials. Avoid using materials that have too strong an impact and/or are too textured (such as mottled leaves). Any combination of plant materials is fine, as long as they are all green and any color container can be used. For the container, think about harmony when using the color of the container.
Green is a powerful color that can make one feel relaxed, calm, and at peace. Think of how you feel when you hike through a thriving forest or go for a walk along a trail. Remember that feeling and try to capture that beauty through ikebana. Notice the different color tones and textures within the materials, create an arrangement that speaks to you, and use your own self-expression to reveal the beauty of green materials.
