Open Water
This artwork was created through collaging tree bark onto a plate surface, sealing the tree bark, and printing it with blue ink on a press; this is referred to as a collagraph print. Several collagraphs of tree bark were hand printed with blue ink to mimic waves in the ocean. Then these prints were purposely torn and collaged onto a panel surface. Watercolors were added to the prints to enhance the look of water. The small sliver at the top mimics a horizon line with a sky; this portion was screenprinted with a blend of ink. The artwork is mounted onto a panel attached to a frame and the frame depth is 2.75".
