Nikko National Park
Nikko is located along Japan's Romantic Road and is most famous for Toshogu Shrine. Unfortunately, we did not attend the shrine but did go down the very windy Romantic Road. Nikko National Park offers scenic mountainous landscapes, waterfalls, hot springs, and lots & lots of wild monkeys. The almost 100 meter tall Kegon Waterfall is the most famous of the waterfalls in Nikko and is even ranked as one of Japan's three most beautiful waterfalls. In winter, the waterfall freezes completely solid but it was still going strong when we viewed it.
